I started using openSUSE 12.1 recently but Hindi fonts are not rendering
very well in the browsers. Considering that we run a Hindi site its

Try to isolate the problem, check whether the behavior is similar on all
applications on the terminal such as on vi/emacs. Also, try typing
CTRL-V CTRL-L on bash prompt, you should see ^L output on the terminal.
