I use Intel dg33fb desktop board and the default audio codec installed
is :* Realtek alc888* . I also followed the instructions given here
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto and made changes to
the */etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf* file and added the line *options
snd-hda
Hi,
You can try pavucontrol, it helped me in using my 5.1 surround sound
system. Make sure that your headphones are connected to the proper jack. If it
is a front-panel connection, please make sure the wires are connected, and also
that the BIOS Settings are correct.

My headphones don't work and if I open Alsamixer the headphone
slider is at 0 and cannot be increased. Someone help me to enable my
headphone please, the configuration in displayed below
