maybe this is obvious stuff..and if it is, sorry to bother... i had a similar problem a while ago... mouseconfig from console gave generic mouse ps/2 while my mouse was a three button serial. i had to manually select 3button mouse serial to get this to work...(and turn the 3 button emulation off).

Dear Friends, I am having trouble getting the middle-click to work. It works fine in console, but whenever I login through the GUI, it does not work. I made an entry in XF86Config-4 to enable the 3 button emulator. But, neither the middle button works nor the emulator. Thanks, Arjun _

Hi, What is the Configuration utility for X in RH9. Is it still xf86config? Actually, earlier it was a RH8 machine but was not running in X mode, we upgraded it yesterday to RH9 specifying all packages. But now, there is no xf86config or Xconfigurator command. Regards, Venky __
