Programs could be written using MPI (say using OpenMPI library) to utilize the processing power of both the nodes of the cluster that may be formed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_cluster As per the usual applications are concerned, I am not sure, but i believe there is some implementation had come across it a long time back. But the applications that ran were themselves modified a bit to take advantage of the cluster. If any of you can throw some light on the issue.
