[ilugd] sudo problem

hi, recently i have installed ubuntu 8.04 in a a laptop, every thing is goin well except one thing *"sudo" command is not working in the tarminal, *when i give the command to enter in the root, it shows fail to it . now what to do to solve this problem ??? -- Raghav Dwivedi LINUX US
