[ilugd] problem with environment variables

hello all i am trying to compile a file placed on partition (/mnt/extra) other than / or /home. this partition is of ext3 type. now i am trying to compile a java code on /mnt/extra but it says sme class file is not found. but if i keep the same file on /home directory it compile without any erro

Hello All! I have just started learning and working on linux. i installed some "rpm" packages in Fedora Core they get installed and work fine. The problem comes when i want to uniinstall the software. when i give the command "rpm -e packageName.rpm" it says that this package is not installed
