Hi, Go ahead and make the required entries in /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow (if ur using one) Then type passwd from the root prompt.. and change the passwd. Things look like working. We need to check y does the useradd program is not allowing usernames with dots. :) Regards Subhasis On

hi list, I can't able to create users having decimal point(s) in their name. i.e a.b #useradd a.b userdd: invalid user name 'a.b' os used: Redhat 9 Fedora Core 1,2 & 3 Redhat Enterprise ES 3.0 Note: i can create user with dots (i.e navneet.kc) on Redhat 6.2 system. Any work around for
