Hi!

This is for the knowledge of those who were planning to take the RHCE exam in the near future. I just got word from some of the people who had just given the RHCE exam in USA. Apparently the format of the exam has changed drastically.

The exam is now based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3. There is no round for multiple-choice this time. In fact there are only two rounds - Troubleshooting for 2.5 hours and installation for 3 hours. Needless to say, very few people giving the test knew about these changes and flunked left and right.

The rest, beware! This might be the best certification in the industry, but you got to play with their rules - if you dont have enough money to pay for the Red Hat AS server get access to instritutions or firms which have RHEL installed and work on THEM. RHEL and RHL9 would definitely have some differences - dont get surprised!

However, the best option would be to wait for the future :) - my personal bet is a 50-50 one on the UserLinux initiative getting somewhere and Debian based independent certifications coming into the market.
