Well, for one, make this your first lesson - if you are really interested in a solution, *stop* replying to unrelated email to send your queries. You have done this twice already, and it is really irritating to people who use certain email software. You lose potential replies that way.
I see you are using Yahoo! mail. Just copy the email address "ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org", then clock on "compose" button, paste this email address, write "help needed to install vlc tar.gz package" as the subject, and click send.
