Hi, Want dual head setup but want to avoid proprietary driver cards (like ATI, nVidia), then you can do that utilizing your on-board Intel Graphics (chipset >= 915G). All you need is a sDVO[1] card (Intel's proprietary technology) which comes for USD 20 or similar. The sDVO card requires a mobo with PCI-Express x16 slot and you can connect your output device like Monitor (no VGA port, but DVI[2] AFAIK) and TVs. The Xorg's 'intel' graphics drivers supports this[3], so be it GNU/Linux or FreeBSD, you can enjoy dual head with FOSS drivers :) . Also Intel has made available all technical documentation (required for developing drivers on other OSs) related to its graphics chipsets, available under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivative Works License[4].
