And calling politics different from FOSS/Linux is prejudice because if we say that Govt. is responsible for ensuring our freedom then it is the resposiblity of the very same Govt. to ensure our Digital Freedom and FOSS/Linux is all about digital freedom. FOSS and GNU/Linux evolved out of the political viewpoints of Richard Stallman, thats why RMS is more known for his philosophical(political) ideas and seen more like a political leader of FOSS revolution. Earlier some of the members of this mailing list even called RMS as the Mahatma Gandhi of FOSS movement, if you call RMS as Gandhi then you must also agree to call GNU/Linux a great political achievement in establishing digital freedom. I ask you all that we so cautious and much concerned about the freedom offered by the softwares we use but when it comes to discuss about the laws that govern 'that freedom' we are least interested (even to the extent that we call it off-the-list topic), why have such double standards? And as far as the idea about 'Open Democracy' is concerned its still in premature stage and it needs more refinements. I chose to discuss it on this mailing list because of the two reasons: firstly, the mode of the development will be similar to the development mode of any open source software. secondly, FOSS/Linux and politics are the most related topics. If they're not then this mailing list would be the last place to post such ideas. we cant hide our face behind the statements "we're the techies and politics is not our cup of tea" or "consult vakeel and judges but not the people from FOSS/Linux arena", though we all are techies but we can utilize our technical skills to develop the platform to share the ideas on 'Open Democracy'. (just like facebook is a platform developed by techies for common people to share ideas) Today I slashed out my ideas because good intentions die unless utilized. And I did it so that all the fellow Open Source Zealots can critically analyze it, hence more ideas and criticism are welcomed to improve it.
