is there any reason you are using such an old distribution ? Consider
something newer ? maybe CentOS 4. Its RH based, so you get

Red Hat 9 is very, very, very old.
AFAIK, you will not find support for old distros. Most bugs/problems
you face might have been fixed in recent distros.
Please use a recent distro.
