hey man,, when you do $ cat /dev/cdrom myimage.iso this include MBR section which make a disk/rom bootable making the bootable iso is correct,,, either those CDs are not bootable or there must be something wrong with the procedure that you are following to wrote on disk... On Tue, Oct 21, 2008

I have use this tool very few times but this should work,, I think for any CD first you make a iso image $ cat /dev/cdrom myimage.iso Right click on iso image and open with K3b ___ ilugd mailinglist -- ilugd@lists.linux-delhi.org

Hi All This is regarding K3b.Whenever i start K3b on my Mandrakelinux 10.1 or Fedora Core4 or Ubuntu 5.04, it generates the GUI with the message as Scanning For CD Devices shown in the splash Screen For the geneartion of GUI mode then it hangs there .No further screen is shown even i have waited
