Hi,
I just happened to finish downloading a 630 MB ISO image. Now when I check the MD5 checksum of the image i had downloaded with the original one, I get a different result!
Nevertheless, I burned the image to a CD. I checked the MD5 checksums given in various folders of the distro cd and they seemed to match with the ones provided ( I tried searching all but it was too tedious doing manually. Using diff solved the problem though I had to look at the output for a while).
Now, the problem is that the binaries don't have a checksum provided. (eg. files in "boot" folder). So I can't know if any file is corrupt. I tried booting from the disc and it went off well. I am just scared that I might crash the installation if some important file is corrupt (some file has to be corrupt, isn't it?). Can anyone tell me if I can sort this problem without requiring to download the image again? Suppose I get thru the installation, will the OS crash? Or will the installation not finish?

If anyone has an idea, please enlighten me.

 Affly,
 Bhaskar.
