Please don't bother the whois registry for every single mail you get.
Its a real bad idea. IP whois information is better used only for abuse.
Automation even there is not a good idea. 
Even the Abuse Deskers would maintain their list of Abuse best contacts and
cache the results from whois when they need them. Perhaps Suresh is the
right person to say more on this.
