Hi Ashu, This is Relatively done Some times by just, Putting Proxy configuration in synaptic Settings- Preferences-network. Or U can make a file name 01proxy in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d write Acquire::http::Proxy "http://192.168.0.254:3128";; save the file, apt works with proxy

Hi I am using Ubuntu 5.10 and installed apt-proxy. Configured its .conf to use backends : *[ubuntu]* *;; Ubuntu archive* *backends = http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu* *[ubuntu-security]* *;; Ubuntu security updates* *backends = http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu* and disabled all other backends.
