I have the same problem with the PCQLinux kernel 2.6.2.
I have nvidia nforce audio controller.
Have tried the nforce nvidia drivers- but no drivers are available for the
latest kernel.
guess this is the price to pay for being at the bleeding edge of Linux.

while using 2.6.2 on PCQlinux2004 my CM8378 sound card doesnot work
i checked the config file in the boot directory in comparison with 2.4.22
config file there was no option for CM8378 in 2.6.2 config file
is there anything i can do to get sound in 2.6.2
