Sir, tried all the three options but it did not work. At last tried
Easiest method is to boot from a ubuntu or any other live cd of same
architect mount the root file system
and just do 'chroot'
and then chpasswd

boot ur system through the super user mode using the bootable Cd you can
find the info using googling. You can reset ur password for the super user
using it .
You dont need a reinstall.

upon defining command at top of the line by pressing e (in the grub boot menu),
and then pressing b for booting, coming across as 'Unrecognised Command'.
Please guide where I am committing mistake.

encryption. but u can always change it.
Wat u can do is ..in ur grub menu while booting .before u boot into linux
