Make sure you don't expose the drum to any direct sunlight, and generally don't keep it out of the printer any longer than necessary to clean it. The photo sensitive coating can be damaged by too much exposure to regular light. These days, inkjet is generally more economical unless you are a high volume user, and even then some of the newer full-page inkjet offerings might be cheaper per page. The cartridge cost might be higher, but you don't have any other expensive items like the drum or fuser that you have to worry about. I have a Brother multifunction inkjet (MFC-J6710DW); the feature set provided for the cost was excellent, and even factory ink cartridges are reasonably priced. However, the color quality just isn't there; I've tried tweaking it and graphics still come out a bity muddy and/or under saturated. So, if you're printing a lot of photos, you might want to go with HP/Epson/Canon. Otherwise, it's a good machine for the cost compared to the other manufacturers. -- [Greg Bennett] -Independent Carpenter, Electrician & Lighting Designer -Purveyor of Classic Apple & Macintosh Gear http://www.hsiprodsvcs.com/ http://www.macshack.us/ -- You received this message because you are a member of the iMac Group, a group for those using Apple iMacs and eMacs.
