Hello! I have the same issue. The Brightness Star App has fixed the 
brightness issue. It does have a checkbox were you can check for it to 
start as your system starts. If that dosent work you can always use 
SystemPreferences>Users&Groups>LogInItems>"+"> then search on the 
Applications for the Brightness Star Apps. This will enable the ap to start 
at system Boot.
