Please disregard the last post. I figured it out.
I'd installed IMail 10 in a virtual folder under an existing domain. The existing domain had a web.config with some settings conflicting with the web.config in Imails web client. I tried altering the Imail web.config to use the key word <clear/> thinking it would negate the parent web.config settings. Apparently doing that fixed my first problem, and created my second. I ended up putting the Imail client on its own domain in IIS. That fixed the problem.
