In imp 5 , still facing the issue regarding performance. It's my experience
if i click on a msg then it will take 3-4 seconds to display their
contents. Once we have clicked on messages then click on previously seen
msg. It's working fine.
My imp/config/conf.php

Maybe you have a slow IMAP server. IMAP debug logs (see
imp/config/backends.php) will indicate whether IM

Don't use courier. It does not support the advanced IMAP options
needed to support disconnected clients (e.g. webmail).
