with the latest indiana it boots properly, but it seems the network interface
is not recognised.

Sanjay,
thanks for the info. Finally I was able to install Indiana2 as hvm DomU
in xVM. But really it took some tricks.
1. I tested with Nevada 82 as Dom0
2. The virtual disc for the domU is a ZFS zvol
3. It still runs in 32bit, because the xvm of nevada 82 is based on xen
3.0.4 (AFIAK), which r

No problem. Still might be fun to play with.
For influencing what happens after you boot, I played with adding a boot
parameter to the GRUB line, which I think is a suggestion I believe Dave
Miner made.
When the machine booted, I could then find this parameter with prtconf
and do some decisio
Thanks Angelo. /var/pkg/cfg_cache had only opensolaris.org.
I dont know if this is the correct way but I got my system's sanity back
after deleting /.pkg.opensolaris,org
So, to see both the repositories, I have to add (edit it manually) the
/var/pkg/cfg_cache? Thanks again

Neat! I've put the accessible install stuff on the back burner for now
for a couple reasons: 1) *everyone* is busy and I want to leave them
alone to get their stuff out the door; 2) I'm one of the *everyone*.
After our big CSUN conference in early March, though, I hope to jump
back on this hot
Hi Siva:
What does your /var/pkg/cfg_cache have? It should contain something
like
[authority_opensolaris.org]
origin = http://pkg.opensolaris.org:80
prefix = opensolaris.org
mirrors = None
You should be able to seamlessly see both the SWAN blastwave and
the pkg.opensolaris.org repos by making a
Ignore that. The only alternatives seem to be graphics and text.

Willie, have you seen this:
http://blogs.sun.com/setje/entry/happiness_through_ignorance
It looks like this is how you enable alternative consoles during a grub
boot. If this isn't the answer, maybe this blog's author would know the
answer to your questions.

I've seen the opposite, Indiana looks blurrier on some hardware when
running on a SNV79 VirtualBox host. I think it has something to do with
color depth and how well antialiasing works inside the virtualized
display. Do you get a warning message regarding color depth?
