OK, some more info on the CUPS authentication issue, I set logging to debug and
the error_log output is below. It looks like the username and password entered
in the web admin gui is not being passed to the cups deamon, as if blank data
is passed instead.

That's good to hear, I've seen the mockups for Nautilus, love to help
you test them when they come to surface.

I agree with Dave's assessment. There was a serious regression idmapd in
snv_90:
CR 6706243 6591398 breaks workgroup mode; idmapd should not demand

or discoverable
Which was recently putback on 6/6/08 and should be delivered into snv_92.

I'm also getting authentication problem in CUPS. Fresh install with 2008.05,
pkg image-update (worked on second try), deleted the old BE and the failed

I did not delete previous BE and rebooted into that. SMB share works
in snv_86, thank to ZFS, it is more cool feature, than Apple's Time

But, it is the fact - CIFS does not work in snv_90.

The only thing I've ever changed is adding "other password required
pam_smb_passwd.so.1 nowarn" to /etc/pam.conf for smb authentication,
about three weeks ago, and I haven't touched that file since then.
Doesn't seem to have changed.
