I think the easiest way to setup a static IP is to edit /etc/nwam/llp as
described in the nwamd(1M) manpage.
$ man nwamd

What is your default router ? (netstat -rn)
A dhcp server will give you automatically the default router. But if you want a
static ip you have to edit the /etc/defaultrouter and specify it. Just try
"echo 'default router ip' > /etc/defaultrouter
