Very interesting Dinesh Ji, This peculiar shape makes this plant very useful to be used as a musical instrument, using a string...that instrument is known as "Tumbi", that's why this is called Tumbiphalam in one of the tongues...this has largely been replaced by wooden ones, but traditionally this was used, the fruit was allowed to dry completely and then skilled hands turned this into beautiful and melodious instrument.. -- Regards,
