Hi,
Have many Trewia nudiflora [Petari / Petani] trees on my property at
Shahpur [the photographs of which are available in the archives of this group
for comparison]. I do not agree with this diagnosis.
                   With regards,
                     Neil Soares.

Forwarding again for Id confirmation or otherwise please.
Some earlier relevant feedback:
“I think this are the the fruits of Trewia nudiflora. I had seen similar fruits
last year in Palakkad, Kerala.

The id of the tree was confirmed  by a botanist friend of mine. Unfortunately I
couldn't photograph the fruits then.
As you said the fruits in the earlier posts by Pravin ji and Dinesh ji does
look different and it confuses me too.
Hopefully our experts will help to solve this confusion.

T. nudiflora L. are same species!

Sir,

Attaching fruit images of Trewia nudiflora L. that i recorded this morning.
But i am very confused regarding the ID. The fruits of Trewia
nudiflora available in the net do not match with mine.
Even earlier efI posts by Pravin Ji
(https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!searchin/indiantreepix/trewia$20nudiflora/indiantreepix/mvDKkA64exE/zqi5jokubhQJ)
 and Dinesh Ji
(https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!searchin/indiantreepix/trewia$20nudiflora/indiantreepix/lbkwF5QPYgY/5-0xsfwX6XsJ)
 show different fruits.

If the fruits in these attached images are not of Trewia nudiflora then my
earlier post of the very same tree
(https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/indiantreepix/cl3zczbsij8)
is not Trewia nudiflora.

Also attaching pictures of a red-whiskered bulbul & a white-throated kingfisher
(State bird of West Bengal), perched on another Trewia tree, alongwith.

Species : Trewia nudiflora L. ???
Habit & Habitat : tree, roadside plantation
Date : 02-05-2012, 10.30 a.m.
Place : Gobra (Hooghly), WB
ID help : http://www.plantphoto.cn/tu.aspx?id=58571

Thank you & Regards,

Surajit Koley
