This is what we discussed on FB

   - Nilkanth Ambaye <https://www.facebook.com/nilkanth.ambaye> Now this
genus is under Family Orobanchaceae , the family in which plants are fully
/ partially parasitic on roots of other plants.Their alternate leaves have
been reduced to somewhat fleshy, sessile scales of various colours and
hence due to lack of chlorophyll they can not do the work of
photosynthesis. Due to these scales , at first glance the pic appears to be
of Acanthaceae members with bracts & bracteoles.

   Nilkanth Ambaye <https://www.facebook.com/nilkanth.ambaye> Inflorescence
with bracts & bracteoles is atypical character of Acanthaceae ; in this
plant the leaves have reduced to scales; covering the flower bases like
   bracts
