Ma'am, Makalidurga is a small town around 80 kms outside Bangalore. In Makalidurga are a set of hills which are rocky and highly dry.
Vegetation on these hills are mainly of herbs, shrubs and tall grasses, only a few species of trees grow here- *Anogeissus latifolia, Dalbergia latifolia, Dalbergia lanceolaria**, Vitex altissima, Ficus mollis, F. arnottiana* etc. It is a very dry hill. The main hill has a temple at the top. The hill is known mainly for Makali-beru or *Decalepis hamiltonii*, a south Indian endemic, which grows profusely at the hill tops ( https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/indiantreepix/makali$20beru/indiantreepix/Vo8CMwKobKU/mCpOzLWo74oJ ) On Tue, Oct 7, 2014 at 10:37 AM, Ushadi Micromini <microminipho...@gmail.com > wrote: > what is Makalidurga?? > > if a place or village > what state what district > is it a plains area or hilly area? > etc please > > Usha di > > On Tue, Oct 7, 2014 at 10:18 AM, Anurag Sharma <anurag.op...@gmail.com> > wrote: > >> Makalidurga >> 5th October 2014 >> >> -- >> You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups >> "efloraofindia" group. >> To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an >> email to indiantreepix+unsubscr...@googlegroups.com. >> To post to this group, send email to indiantreepix@googlegroups.com. >> Visit this group at http://groups.google.com/group/indiantreepix. >> For more options, visit https://groups.google.com/d/optout. >> > > > > -- > Usha di > =========== > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "efloraofindia" group.
