The fruit is of Diospyrosmelanoxylon from family Ebenaceae. Commonly known as 
Ebony tree. In centralIndia i.e. in Madhya Pradesh it is known as Tendu & in 
Orissa - Kendu. Theleaves can be wrapped around tobacco to make Bidi 
(conventional cigarettes inIndia).
