Thanks Ranjini for the gajra making information, must be quite a delicate task!. I quite agree with the wave of good feeling that is generated by these flowers.
I must inform that after going through the Flora of Mah., Vol I, I got to know that this species is listed under 'Some botanically important and rare plants from western Maharashtra '. A lot of medicinal use too of the whole plant! Another interesting and intriguing bit from wiki is that women under Spanish colonial times used to adorn themselves and "...because of the intricate structure of the inflorescence, women hid and carried secret mesages important to the independence cause under it."
