Very strange, and I wouldn't disagree with a backup reinstall approach. I'm
out of possible avenues to explore.

I changed correct config file, according to ps:
influxdb 3172 4.2 6.3 4306160 524368 ? Sl Jun18 2990:29
/usr/bin/influxd -pidfile /var/run/influxdb/influxd.pid -config
/etc/influxdb/influxdb.conf
I think, simplest solution would be backup data and reinstall influxdb.

It sounds like perhaps the config file you changed isn't the one InfluxDB
is using. Check the process list for what config file flag is listed on the
influxd process.
How are you starting the system? service influxdb start?
/etc/init.d/influxdb start?

No, those lines does not to show up, only those:

Hi Jan,
The "unable to parse Basic Auth credentials" error indicates that auth is
still enabled. Can you confirm whether the following line shows up in the
logs when the influxd process starts up?
[httpd] 2016/07/27 11:58:36 Authentication enabled: false

Sorry for delay, here it is. After auth-enabled is set to false and
influxd process is restarted, i am getting this:
# influx
Visit https://enterprise.influxdata.com to register for updates, InfluxDB
server management, and monitoring.
Connected to http://localhost:8086 version 0.13.0
InfluxDB
Can you copy and paste those errors?

I think the simplest method would be to disable authentication in the
config file. You can then restart the process, connect via the CLI, and
create whatever new admin user you need. Then re-enable auth and bounce the
process again. I haven't tested this recently, so let us know if there are
issues
