I confirm the problem, I just tried:
cvs -z8 update -P -d (in directory D:\CVS_Cyclic\ccvs\)
Fatal error, aborting.
anonymous: no such user

Is the CVS server at cvs.cyclic.com still accepting
anonymous connections? It was a few days ago, I'm sure.
I just now (July 5, 8:30pm CDT) tried the following:

Has anyone added scrollbars to the gcvs graph display?
Is doing that in the works somewhere?
(Is this the right place to ask gcvs questions?
I thought I posted this question last week, but it
never appeared...)

Hi people,
I am having no end of problem with the cvs server. I am running:
RedHat 6.2
cvs 1.10.8 with the patch for file handles
We get very often locks left around the repository. For example, today we've
got:
[root@redpill evolve-client]# find -name "*cvs*"
./images/#cvs.rfl.redpill.redcels
Your CVSROOT variable in profile is definitely set up correctly.
However, when you type "cvs -d /repository/ init" you must type the
*exact* full path to the repository, not just "cvs -d /repository/
init" (i usually cd back to the machine root when i issue this
command). Also remember that
One more note on the scripts I posted. I mentioned that I borrowed on some

I set up CVS the following way.

export CVSROOT
then typed this, which creat ed the

Finally I found the problem with your help. I uncommented following line in
CVSROOT/loginfo. The reason is that cvs init was done on version 1.9 . When I
do cvs init on a temp cvsroot, 'who am i' is now replaced by 'id'.
I has replaced 'who am i' with id and it is now fixed.

Sounds like the path listed in etc/profile or in CVSROOT/modules may
be pointing to the wrong place. Both need to point to the modules
folder itself. For exact syntax, see:

Not possible for binary files. CVS would have to be able to decode and figure
out where the heck the symbols were.

Hello, all!
Here at demasiado.com, we're using cvs to help us develop our
website. In a development cycle of a program (traditional development
cycle) is it ok have two versions: one stable and other unstable. Our idea

Hello,
We use WinCVS and it is able to edit text files wich are in CVS: with "$Revision: $"
CVS automatically puts the version number in the file, this is a nice tool and we use
it a lot. Did anyone try to do this with a binary file too (doc, xls) or do you know
if it is possible?
Bart.

I need a way to tell WinCVS to:
- Ignore some files
- Assume binary/text for some files
when doing imports, and optionally when doing adds.
We work in java, and the cvs users have a directory called src and another
called classes, both inside the module directory. When they have a

All I did was chmod o+r /root. This allowed CVS to look into /root to see if
a .cvsignore file existed, found that there wasn't and carried on.
What changes did you make to inetd.conf regarding env as this would seem
more secure than giving all read access to /root?

If only cvs log had an option to repress the listing of entries which
resulted in 0 selected revisions when filtering by date, the following would
come very close:

This does work if checking for a particular file or set of
