Put an entry "*" in .cvsignore.
If a file is already CVS-tracked, that takes priority over a
.cvsignore entry
Part of the tree of web files I'm working on contains a subdirectory
structure full of arbitrarily-named files uploaded by users. When someone
checks out the module, I would like this folder to be created, but empty. On
subsequent updates I'd like to ignore all of the files in each directory,

I think this is the root of your problem. What platform are you running

Right, but it *does* apply to the files you want it to. That is, "cvs

cvs add *
cvs add */*
cvs add */*/*

I think there have been scripts posted here as well -- you might want to
check the archives.

warning means that the command doesnt apply to these files ?
So I have to confirm it by an no ambiguous command for each of these files

Hi,
I'm looking to evaluate CVS and, after downloading the appropriate file
from cvsgui.org, I proceeded with the set up. After set up was complete I
attempted to invoke cvs from my start menu but, after selecting it, I
received a message stating 'a required .DLL file, MFC42.DLL was not
found'.

Do you mean use the same physical directories? Not a good idea. CVS is
designed to be used in parallel. I can't imagine sharing sandboxes, even if
it's not simultaneous access.

Sorry if my explanation to the problem was a bit in-accurate.
Yes, VB is not case sensitive, and the IDE helps (or screws it up) by
changing the case on the identifiers in the files to make it look tidy.
I was just wondering if there was a way to make CVS ignore
the case when finding changes to t
