Hi Toby,
You will probably find that there is both a userid called 'cvs' and a group called
'cvs'.
If the cvs repository is writable for both userid 'cvs' and members of the 'cvs'
group, the you could ask the sys-admin to make your userid a member of 'cvs' group.
When you issue cvs commands
Hi,
I have installed CVS server on a Linux box in Canada. In India, we

Typically you need to do an 'update' afterwards for the change to be
reflected in the workspace, however in my version of CVS (1.10)
cp /etc/shadow
/var/cvs/CVSROOT/passwd
The CVS passwd file does not have the same format as the shadow-passwd
file - check out the following:

Kind Regards,

Hi,
I have set off directories which contains files of both ascii and binary,
which I need to import them into CVS repository. I know that we have to use
keyword substitution for binary files, but since I have both ascii and
binary files in a directory, I am not sure what happens if i use -kb
Newbie question:
I am implementing CVS on several projects, and was wondering if there are
any common problems (performance, etc.) associated with heavy use of tags?
It would be very possible in this implementation for individual file
versions to have 0 to many tags- should I be concerned with
