actually that's just what we were looking for - but:
It looks as if there is an inconsistency within cvs that keeps us from using it.
If we tag a module and subsequently delete the same tag on the module, cvs acts
differently
as when the tag has never been set.
I recon that cvs checks

This is not a question about how to branch and tag, but what each individual developer must do in order to maintain correct branches and tags.
Say for example a release has been tagged, so that all developers on the project are working from the same source code.

Yes I have installed 1.11.5 and is configured well on Suse linux 7.0.
I was trying the same with the RH and default it has is CVS 1.10.8. I will
do the same on this tooinfact with the CVS 1.11.6
