cvs admin -l and moving attic files to another directory

another tree within the repository,in the same path as they were before.What is the best way to do this without losing history ofcourse?We have hunderds of files in attic and they want it cleaned up but we may need them sometime in the future. TIA, Anita Chacko

Log message verification problem

this I wrote a script.But when I run it(from verifymsg),it is doing everything but commits with the msg entered with the -m option or in the editor that CVS opens.How can I get around this? We are using log_accum and commit_prep for the email notifications. Thanks a lot, Anita Chacko

User as which cvs server is running?

Hi How can I find out the user as which the cvs server is running? When I look in /usr/bin ,an ls -l for cvs is as follows -rwxr-xr-x 1 root wheel 1447127 Mar 26 13:50 cvs Does this mean cvs server is running as the user root? Pls clarify. Thanks a lot, Anita chacko

cvs_acls and Avail

ed in *addition* to the DEFAULT line,which I gave as DEFAULT /home/anitac/cvs_acls The cvs_acls is just not doing anything even if I gave unavail | anitac |/test/rep1 It still is allowing me to commit.I have put the avail file in $CVSROOT/CVSROOT as said.Can anyone help? Thanks a lot, Anita C

Restrict command and 'limited' read only

just checked out from the rep to build but is using the files which I modified but did not check in. Does this mean that I cannot have 2 versions of working copies though they are in different locations in my hard disk? (I don't know if this is indeed a CVS related question??) Thanks, Anita C
