NEED HELP with CVS lock

weird cvs update error

Thanks for your quick response. It was a clue from another respondant that put me on the right track. Turns out I had a bad .cvsrc file in my home directory. All is well with the world again (but I came -this- close to using your suggestion!) Tony Waite.
