cvs pserver and knowing who did what

the commits, the "Author" is always set to 'cvsaccount'. Is there any way to make this the 'user' entry? I'm just using an example log.pl script, but I printed the environment settings, and that also didn't have any knowledge of the 'user' name. Any ideas? Greetings, Chris Niekel --
