Hello list,
sorry for the stupid question; so i have a CVS server machine that's
different from the Webserver production, this only for reasons of
security. When the file/s are updated on the server CVS(2401), it must
them be updated on the Webserver(80) production to make visibility

Try this
cvs log -S -d '2004-05-242004-05-27'
The -S option specifies to suppress file information if there are no
revisions that match your criteria.
I have been tasked to find out all the code that has changed in a specific
directory this week. Problem is the CVS administrator is away

/cvs/versions/project/lex.yy.c,v
* CVS exited normally with code 1 *
This sounds like the RCS file is invalid somewhere around revision 1.12
I'm working on a script to wrap cvs update to make the output more
readable for my users. I'm having trouble parsing the differences in
output. My script can handle the first 3 cases fine.
Issues come in when the users try to merge in code from a branch. Case 4
doesn't display a line beginning

We run CVS 1.11.5 (willing to upgrade) pserver on an old Solaris 5.6 box.
I looked through the code for commit_prep in the contrib directory and
understand it, but it looks like it is designed to run in the local
directory
Try using the attached perl script. It cleans up the display quite
nicely, with a summary at the end for things like conflicts, files in the
way, etc.
I perform a cvs update on a large directory structure, and a conflict
happens, but the file it happened on is too far up to scroll to. Does

is justified. A potential solution being bandied
about is to lock out write access to certain subsets of the CVS tree,

Obviously, there are political problems at work here; it's not

Hi Khiem Pham,
if
a) your cvs-server is blocked from the internet (using a firewall or similar)
and
b) you can trust the people on your network,
than you can go for the pserver protocol.

I tried cvsweb recently and like the interface much. However I don't see if
it gives an option to select or checkout the CVS tree on a branch.
Besides, I don't seem be able to download a select file to my local disk and
therefore can't commit back.
Am I missing anything?
