There's a patch at SourceForge under project RCVS
that'll add a "-e" option to unedit that'll allow
anyone to remove any edit.
In one of my projects, we had a web page generated
nightly that'll report outstanding edits. Users were
pretty good at noticing their and others'
long-standing edits.

We're using edit as soft locks on our binary files and as with any lock people tend to
leave them dangling :-(
So far I've edited the fileattr file in the repository to unedit a file, but its a
