How are you accessing the server? rsh, ssh, pserver?
If you are using pserver make sure port 2401 is open. Try
---> telnet techssna 2401
For Solaris you will need to modify the /etc/services file
with an entry for 2401 pserver and then the inted.conf
file with a pserver entry.
