Example of adding new dir/src files and then adding a new brand new file

Thanks for your input. Below I attempt to clarify what I did. I still cannot add a new file. The only thing I can think of that may be causing me problems, is that I have deleted and recreated this several times manually. Perhaps I need to start all over from the beginning with a new repo name
