hi, dear experts,
i happened to the problem when i do merge the branch to main line. the error
can be repeated in my computer.
my system is win98, winCVS 1.0.6, local server + client. i can't figure out
why does "permission denied" occur?
below is my procedure (i follow the instruction in "WinCvs -- Daily Use
Guide"):
1. import "counter.v" as 1.1
2. co, edit, ci to 1.2
3. co, edit, ci to 1.3
4. update to 1.2
5. create branch_1 at 1.2
6. switch to branch_1 as workspace.
7. edit, ci to 1.2.2.1
8. switch to main trunk 1.3, merge branch_1, report conflict.
9. resolve conflict, commit to 1.4
Now, if I want to update to any earlier version, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.2.2.1. CVS
report error as:
cvs [update aborted]: cannot rename file counter.v to CVS/,,counter.v:
Permission denied
what's more,
10. co, edit, ci to 1.5,
i can't return to 1.4, the error msg is same as above.
what's the problem? how to fix it?
