file "request". If you just want the file "request" in the module
"gfdtsadm", the command you want is (I think):

Tony,
Thanks for the reply, but I dont think that's the problem, here is the
actual text I type on the server NT box (in an MS-DOS window):
Microsoft(R) Windows NT(TM)
(C) Copyright 1985-1996 Microsoft Corp.
C:\users>cvs -d :ntserver:ntsrvr01:c:\pserver\cvsroot history
C:\users>cvs -d :local:c

seem to return a result, and error or anything.
eg:
CVSROOT=:ntserver:ntsrvr01:c:\pserver\cvsroot
cvs history
cvs history -report -e
The $CVSROOT/cvsroot/history file has lots of stuff...

You might consider Karl Fogel's book on cvs. it's a good book and has
examples and example output of lots of stuff and imho beats t
I have read the 2 paragraphs in the docs and it makes no sense. There are no
examples and the output I get seems to be nowhere near what I expect.

would expect. Therefore in 'cvs history [
Dave,
actually I've found the command to be very useful. I'm would hate to see it
removed.
I think if you carefully RTFM on history you can figure it out.

cvs history is completely baffling. It seems to always spit out unintelligble
gobbldegook. Is this command actually useful? Can anyone point me to a
resource that documents it? (The official docs are not very descriptive)
