Hello,
I am attempting to retrieve mail using Outlook from a
server running Cyrus 2.0.16. I have verifed that I can
telnet to port 143 and login and do a "Select INBOX"
etc. I am using IMAP port 993 and I have configure
Outlook to use this port and require a secure
connection. I have verified that
larry,
thanks so much. that did the trick. :)
i think that the problem was a result of a server crash (evidenced by a
core file). but it was a crash under an older version of cyrus (1.6.22)
and the account was migrated to the new server (which works great!).
thanks again for all your help an
This message is usually harmless.
Some systems limit how many file descriptors a process can use, and
the 'master' process tries bumping it up to be infinite. If it fails,
it usually means that there's no default limit.

I don't know why this would happen, but try deleting the cyrus.* files
in the mailbox location and then running reconstruct.

Hello,
I'm going to upgrade a box from Cyrus 1.x to Cyrus 2.x, and in doing so,
I added db3 to the box for the new Cyrus. I'd like to also recompile
SASL to use this, as my sasldb currently is dbm/ndbm. How can I go
about converting my sasldb so that it can be used by the new SASL?

This little quirk drove me crazy for a pretty good part of the afternoon
yesterday..
I was having trouble geting 993/imaps to work.
My imap.conf looks like :
configdirectory: /var/imap
partition-default: /var/spool/imap
admins: jrush
sasl_pwcheck_method: pwcheck
tls_cert_file: /var/imap/server.

That is quite natural because user+something does not exists on passwd.
I think that you can not write
Okay, the problem I was having was when we upgraded to Cyrus IMAPD 2.0.16
and Sendmail 8.12.0 using LMTP, plussed address (user+folder@address) no
longer worked. If the 'w' flag was specified for the cyrus mailer in the
sendmail.cf file, messages to plussed addresses would bounce with a user

Yikes... this isn't good news. The funny thing is that we had this
working just fine with the old IMAP server (1.5.24) using deliver with
Sendmail 8.12.0. Here is the cyrus section that we were using:
Mcyrus, P=/usr/cyrus/bin/deliver, F=lsDFMnPqwA5@:|/,

Hi!
Does anybody has the steps I should perform to upgrade the mailboxes of
my users to the new version 2 (.0.16)?

I want tu upgrade to Cyrus 2.0.16 (already working) with SASL 1.5.24,
Berkeley DB 3.29, Sendmail 8.11.5

Hello all,
I am having trouble configuring Cyrus in any way that will allow me to
authenticate. I've tried doing this several different ways according to the
docs, the HOWTO, the O'Reilly IMAP book, and various list posts. I keep

Hi,
I encountered some problems using the multi-line string form in vacation-
and reject actions of SIEVE scripts. The following (constructed) example
should show the problem.
E.g. I want to send a vacation reply containing the following lines:
