Hi Steven,
This is probably an MTA problem. Cyrus does not require anything in /etc/password
except possibly for authntication (and you can use LDAP, etc for that instead.)
Have you tried calling deliver directly like:
/usr/cyrus/bin/deliver jwade < /tmp/testmessage
where test message is
we installed sasl and imap code on our new server.
when doing a
telnet localhost 110
user
pass
we get back an authentication failure.
THe box is runing slackware 8
any help would be appreciated. this is the first time we have used
the cyrus code base
Thanks, first of all for the help getting cyrus working with
saslauthd-pam...
I have been trying for days now to get the latest IMP(3.0) with the
latest Horde(2.0) to work with cyrus. The problem now is that imp tries
to use the protocol imap to logon, which then tries to logon via
C
I was trying out with sieve that comes
with
Cyrus-IMAP 2.0.16.
The supplied scripts "installsieve" &
"sieveshell"
don't seem to authenticate me in
anyway.
When running "installsieve -l
localhost",
it prompts for password then output
"Unable to connect to server: Authentication error"
a
Thank You very much for each and every one replied. Now I know what to use!!
:)
Thanks again.

This was a interesting thread, and I was happy to see that at least
one suggestion, Jawmail, supported WAP, but it caused my stock RedHat
7.1 Apache/PHP build to crash when I ran "install.php"... So, are
there any other IMAP interfaces with WML support? Any experiences?
Hello,
I have a very odd situation.
I'm migrating to LDAP. I have written a custom pwcheck() function that
checks for users in both /etc/passwd and on the LDAP server. That part of
the system works fine. Delivery doesn't.
I can use deliver-wrapper to deliver to mailboxes for those users who
i am using imp from www.horde.org.
it is a good sollution with a very easy web interface (it was tricky to
install though - it took time untill i found install guide.)
the best of all - it is free.

We use IMP (www.horde.org). It handles the Cyrus naming space pretty
well.

Try jawmail (jawmail.sf.net)

I guess this is CVS tag cyrus-release-2-1-0, but where does
development for future 2.1 versions take place? HEAD?
I think both of these are linux-only at the moment.
Probably nothing exists for solaris. Irix has cxfs (cluster-xfs) which
does this.

These appear to be LINUX products. Are they? Is anything available
for Solaris? Are these known to work with Cyrus?

Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading from IMAP 1.5 to 2.0. We have one
issue that we are trying to resolve before declaring IMAP 2.0 production
ready.. Most of our email clients are Netscape 4.76 on Windows. This
client suffers from a bug whereby it will sometimes go into an infinite

Surprisingly, its not. Fibre HDDs are gotten a lot cheaper (same price as
SCSI), and fibre switches/h

Short answer: NFS and Cyrus don't mix.
Use GFS (www.globalfilesystem.org) or Intermezzo (www.inter-mezzo.org),
which provide local symantics over shared storage.

Hi All,
I need to setup a clustering IMAP mail server. So I'm planning to use a NAS
for storage) and couple of nodes with Linux OS. But when comes to File
System, I found that Cyrus IMAP server has problems with NFS file system.
Could you kindly update me with what other mechanism that I can use
Try Squirrelmail (http://www.squirrelmail.org )
Extremely eazy to setup and yes, it do support subfolders.
