Upgrade to Berkeley DB 4 and now the server crashes ---- HELP !!!

I upgraded to Berkeley 4.1.24 and now the whole installation does not work. I made ctl_cyrusdb -r but that does not fix it. What can I do either! I really need the mailserver working again as soon as possible. Its a never change a running system thing but now many people dont have email
