I'm not getting the "no worthy mechs" error since I installed cyrus.c
patch.. But their are other errors with the authentication..
I'm going to try and debug ldapdb when I get a chance.. Or try upgrading
openldap to 2.1.25 and the newer ldapdb release.
Oh What release of Cyrus SASL are you using??

Mike,
Before I take too long on this, I should ask: Which
old .mc file? Frankly, I'm not sure at this point. I
have about 50 files in my /cf directory (see below).
Should this be a short one I build myself, or one of
the prototypes, generic-linux.mc for example?
Thanks!

Trying not burden this group with my newbie questions. I'm new to
Linux and do not have a programming background. I'm using the right source
now, but my failed results are below.
It must be something in the source configuration, which I copied from the

The applicable change has to do with how SASL initilization happens. We
now initialize the client side of SASL all the time, which causes this
problem.
The workaround is to not use

Any idea on what's going wrong?
Maybe the plain sasl plugin isn't installed.
Try a "telnet localhost sieve" and check that in the output there's a
line advertising "SASL" "PLAIN"

The Cyrus Wiki is an excellent resource. As are the mailing list archives

Hi folks
I didn't hear any objections, so I've updated the wiki to include a
partial list of projects that include Cyrus on the external links page,
and added a FAQ entry to refer people to it:
