My server is Solaris 9, Cyrus IMAP 2.2.3, SASL 2.1.17, Postfix 2.0.18
and Squirrelmail 1.4.2. I cannot seems to figure out how authentication
works between IMAPD and Squirrelmal, authentication in general.

If you're using the auth_unix authorization module, you should be able to
use unix groups quite easily. (using group:groupname) syntax. Otherwise,

I had no problem when I have done the migration. You can ask to the author
of the software if you have a problem.
